CECOP’s report “Quality Jobs – the Cooperative Way”, authored by independent researcher Mila Shamku, shows how worker cooperatives, social cooperatives, and cooperatives of autonomous workers make their own contribution to workplace democracy while balancing economic sustainability with fair conditions and long-term job security.

The report also highlights how these cooperatives prioritize inclusion and participation of women and marginalized groups, and how their care for workers and communities has enabled them not only to overcome crises but to transform through them.

Ahead of the release of the EU Quality Jobs Roadmap, CECOP calls on EU policymakers to recognize and promote the uniqueness of the worker-ownership model and to consider cooperatives as key actors in the quality jobs agenda.
