Stay tuned and follow us on Twitter and Facebook to get to know some cooperative destinations! A dedicated website guide will be launched by the end of October and will present cooperatives offering tourism experiences in Europe, with descriptions and interactive maps.
Cooproute is composed by cooperatives which are deeply rooted in the local territory, especially those run by young people, whose economic activities contribute to preserve the local traditions, skills and products and develop a material and immaterial cultural heritage.
In addition, other sites and destinations that best illustrate the culture and values of the cooperative movement are part of the itinerary. The itinerary is being developed under the project called “The European Route of Cooperative Culture – Cooproute”. This project is co-financed by the European Commission (DG Enterprise and Industry) and aims to contribute to diversify the tourism products and services available in Europe by identifying, promoting and developing good examples and practices within the European cooperative movement.
It aims to be recognized as a European Cultural Route by the Council of Europe.
