On 29 and 30 September CECOP invites you to Spazio Dumbo in Bologna to participate in COODING, the first international event dedicated to the use of digital and new technologies in cooperatives.

Why COODING?

New technologies harnessing AI, platforms, data, blockchain, open up new entrepreneurial and systemic perspectives that the cooperative movement and its protagonists must be able to seize. COODING intends to offer cooperators an opportunity to study and discuss the use of digital and new technologies in line with cooperative principles and values.

The cooperative movement must take a stand on the implications of the use of technology and learn to use it in its own favour, in favour of its workers, and according to its own objectives. This means both giving space to new start-ups that experiment directly with new technologies in the cooperative world and supporting the digitalisation of existing cooperatives, ensuring their competitiveness in the market.

Intercooperation is one of the key values of the cooperative movement and there is a great potential to match the digitalisation needs of existing cooperatives with the services provided by some innovative tech cooperatives providing such services.

The first COODING event in Bologna

COODING, an acronym for COOperatives Digital Improvement & Networking Growth, will take place on 29 and 30 September at Spazio Dumbo in Bologna. The event is organised by Fondazione Centro Studi Doc, CECOP, Fondazione PICO and AlmaVicoo.

Cooperators will have the opportunity to discuss and enhance cooperation around the use of digital and new technologies in line with cooperative principles and values, through a main conference, thematic workshops, a cooperative fair, and the opportunity to engage with mentors.

COODING aims to support the development of a shared digital mindset among cooperators through meetings with experts in the field, the testimony of cooperatives' best practices, B2B opportunities, and the exchange among cooperators.

The event is addressed to all members of the cooperative movement, from cooperatives to cooperative representative organisations, to the main stakeholders of the Italian, European, and global cooperative movement, and to academics and policy makers.
