The Genç İşi Kooperatif also known as the Youth Deal Cooperative was founded in 2015 in İzmir, Türkiye, as a worker‑owned, non‑profit cooperative that promotes decent work for young people, women, refugees and other disadvantaged groups. The cooperative operates with a democratic, non‑hierarchical governance model inspired by sociocracy and collective decision‑making.
Over ten years, it has implemented 66 projects, provided capacity building to 2,626 individuals and conducted field research reaching 2,505 people. It also runs KoopDestek, a free digital platform offering support on cooperative governance, finance and law.
Genç İşi Kooperatif joins as a network affiliate to connect with Europe’s industrial and service cooperative family, contribute with a youth and inclusion‑focused perspective, and strengthen joint advocacy, knowledge exchange and project collaboration; particularly around decent work and cooperative development..
CECOP looks forward to starting our collaboration and welcomes Genç İşi Kooperatif on board!
