Spain and Belgium present their legislation on social economy in the French Parliament
Juan Antonio Pedreño, the President of the Spanish Confederation of Worker Cooperatives (COCETA), presented the Spanish law on social economy in the French Parliament last week in order to debate the approval of a similar law in France. The Belgium minister of Economic Affairs and Employment of the Walloon Region, Dimitri Coutiez, also participated in the event. They explained their legislative experiences and gave some ideas for the creation of a possible law on social economy in France.
Pedreño is also president of the Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES). Worker cooperatives represent by far the biggest group in the Spanish social economy, of around 17.000 enterprises.
