French minister Jean-Louis Borloo signs a memorandum for the development of cooperatives of services to persons and praises the cooperative system

For the 1st anniversary of the law on the Services to the person, Jean-Louis Borloo, French minister of employment, social Cohesion and Housing, signed on July 24, in the presence of Frédéric Tiberghien, inter-departmental delegate for the social economy, experimentation and social innovation, a framework memorandum to develop the cooperatives of Services to persons, with Patrick Lenancker, president of CGScop (French confederation of worker cooperatives), Jean-Claude Detilleux, president of Crédit Coopératif and Bruno Arbouët, director of the national agency for the Services to the person. The memorandum marks the commitment of those actors to create and develop sustainable and quality jobs in cooperatives.

Jean-Louis Borloo underlined that worker cooperatives had been active since November 2004 to pave the way for the development of a a pole of excellence focusing on the Services to persons. He said he was convinced that the social economy (in which worker cooperatives are an important actor) is the natural sector for the development of the services to persons.

Jean-Louis Borloo concluded by addressing himself to CGScop and Credit Cooperative: "We are available to disseminate and popularize the cooperative model. It is an answer to a balanced society, I am convinced of it".
